How to measure a ratio between 2 segments?

You can measure a ratio between 2 segments. Each segment can be chosen independently from a line, a polyline, a polygon, a rectangle or an "angle" object.

Measure a ratio between two non contiguous segments:

  1. Select in an image the first segment of annotations and regions of interest by clicking on the left mouse button.
  2. In the same image, while holding the 'Shift' key, click again on the left mousse button to select the second segment of annotations and regions of interest.
  3. Click on the "2D Actions" button of the 2D Viewer window. A menu will appear under your mouse cursor.
  4. Click on "Ratio".
  5. To define the reference of your ratio, click on one of the two "click here" message which appeared on the two segments.
  6. The ratio has been created.

Measure a ratio with 2 contiguous segments:

  1. Select in an image the first segment of annotations by clicking on the left mouse button.
  2. In the same image, while holding the 'Shift' key, click again on the left mousse button to select the second segment of annotations, contiguous to the first one.
  3. Click on the "2D Actions" button of the 2D Viewer window. A menu will appear under your mouse cursor.
  4. Click on "Ratio".
  5. To define this 2 contiguous segments as your ratio reference, click on the single "click here" message, which appeared on the two contiguous segments.
  6. The reference has been created. "100%" message is displayed on it.
  7. Select in the same image a third segment. (This third segment can be one of the two contiguous segments)
  8. Click again on the "2D Actions" button of the 2D Viewer window.
  9. Click on "Ratio".
  10. To measure the ratio between this third segment and the reference, click on the "Click here" corresponding to the former "100%" reference.
  11. The ratio has been created

  12. Example with a two side orthogonal (See "How to create and modify an orthogonal?"):

Note: You can create a reference or a ratio with more than 2 contiguous segments.

Measure several ratios with several references:

  1. After creating several references, select in an image one segment of annotations by clicking on the left mouse button.
  2. Click on the "2D Actions" button of the 2D Viewer window. A menu will appear under your mouse cursor.
  3. Click on "Ratio".
  4. Click on the "click here" message which will become the reference of the selected segment.
  5. The ratio has been created.

  6. Note: To know the links between several ratios and references, click on one of them. The linked ratios and references will be circled by an ellipse.

You can also make the measure of the ratio by 2 others methods: by the top menu of the 2D viewer window, or by the context menu. (See "How to launch actions".)
