What’s new in ONIS 2.6?

1. Export images to email:

From the database or the viewer pages, you can now export your images into a zip file and attach it automatically to your email (outlook or windows live mail). This zip file can be encrypted with a password.

2. New History bar:

The thumbnails describing the series has been modified to give more space for the icons. When creating a new view from a series, you can now customize the layout it will follow.

3. Pages tool:

ONIS 2.6 comes now with a tool that lets you browse the images of the series with the mouse. Of course, a shortcut can be assigned to this new tool.

4. Database Filtering and Sorting:

If a modality is not supported by default, you can now add it. You will now be able to search through this modality. Sometimes, you may want to search by more than one modality at a time (CR and CT for example). You can now define your own set of modalities to the filters. Sorting became also more handy with the possibility to sort using multiple columns. Last but not least, you can also define a filter template and re-use it anytime you want.

5. Synchronize:

When you open a study to review, its series can now be automatically synchronized by slice position or ID.

6. Others:

  • Intelligent sorting by accession number.
  • Increase the number of possible views (up to 100).
  • Non DICOM importer can new import images to a DICOM or REMOTE source.
  • Support for the FUJI Private tag.
  • Monitor calibrations can be loaded through CSV files.

What’s new in ONIS 2.5?

1. Series Synchronization:

ONIS 2.5 is using a completely new synchronization system for the series. You can now synchronize the series by page, slice ID or slice position, in an absolute or relative manner. You can quicky select the views you want to be synchronized, from any monitor.

2. Window Level, Position, Rotation and Zoom synchronization:

The window leveling, position, rotation and zoom could be propagated to all the images in a series. With ONIS 2.5, any of those parameters can also be propagated to the other series automatically.

3. Snapshots:

You can now crop any image and send it to the current report, the capture box or the windows clipboard. Only a part of the image can be sent, and of course, if the image contains annotations, they will be there too!

4. Report History Preview:

With ONIS 2.5, you don’t need anymore to go to the report page to visualize the reports of a patient. You can stay in the viewer page and just in one click view any of the existing reports.

5. New Opacity table Editor:

You can now create advanced Opacity Tables with ONIS 2.5. You can define precise curves using tangeants.

6. Monitor Opacity table:

You can now calibrate each of your monitors with an opacity table.

7. Customize the apperance of the worklist:

You can now modify the worklist font as you want. If you feel more confortable with a bigger font, no problem!

8. Image Backup:

Using the Auto-routing settings, you can now define a backup rule. Doing this, ONIS will automatically backup your images to a DICOM server. From the worklist, you can see the status of the backup of any of your studies. In case of error, you can re-send any studies, series or images to the backup module anytime.

9. Others:

  • The institution name is now displayed in the worklist.
  • You can filter the studies using the patient birthday.
  • The images attached to the reports can be compressed before storage.
  • SR documents can be store and can be retrieved (but cannot be opened).

What’s new in ONIS 2.4?

1. Image Histograms:

ONIS 2.4 can now display the histogram of any monochrome DICOM image! Rescaling and value range customizations can be operated on them.

2. Region of Interest Histograms:

Additionally to the image histogram, ONIS 2.4 can calculate the histogram of any region of interest. Rescaling and value range customizations can be operated as well.

3. Non-Rectangular Image Support:

The native format of some images is not rectangular. Pixel Padding Value is used to pad non-rectangular images to rectangular format. ONIS 2.4 now takes this pixel padding value in account for displaying non rectangular images and for calculating the region of interest statistics (area, min/max, standard deviation, etc.)

4. HTML template reports:

Now, ONIS 2.4 uses HTML templates for creating reports. You can customize your reports in any way you want, adding your logo or hospital name. You can even customize your reports depending on the modality.

5. Report file attachments:

You can attach additional files to your reports. You can add files of any kind, from a PDF to a voice memo or even a movie.

6. Voice memos

When you create a report, ONIS 2.4 offers you the possibility to record one or more voice memos. They will be automatically included in your reports.

7. Study review flag

From the database window, you already can change the status of a study (reviewed or unread). Now, you can modify this status from the viewer window, using a keyboard shortcut.

8. Additional features and Bug fix:

What’s new in ONIS 2.3.5?

1. Custom per Modality DICOM Tags:

Now, you can define the DICOM tags you want to be displayed on your images. For each modality, you can define the tags to display for each corner of the image. Not only DICOM tags, but also the database information, mouse position, pixel values and much more... The editor will even let you displaying several tags on a single line.

2. Video export:

When exporting images, you can now choose the AVI format to gather all your images in a movie. You can choose the movie resolution according to your target audience (email, iPad, NTSC, High-vision...)

3. Faster Window Level tool:

Your time is precious. The Window Level adjustment by the mouse is now very faster. And of course, you can still use your defined presets.

4. Pixel values:

The grayscale pixel value located under your mouse cursor can now be displayed in realtime.

5. Improved features:

Many existing features has been improved in ONIS 2.3.5. Better palette color image support, better image loader, better image printing, better non DICOM image importer (8 bits and 16 bits palette color and grayscale images are now supported), and many other better support!

6. Additional features and Bug fix:

What’s new in ONIS 2.3?

1. Image calibration (Pro and Ultimate):

Your images doesn’t contain pixel spacing information? Don’t worry, you can recalibrate them by setting the pixel spacing and patient orientation in 3D manually. Or simply use the easy calibration tool: just make a measure and tell ONIS what this measure should be equal to in reality!

2. Magnifying tool (Pro and Ultimate):

Now ONIS supports a magnifying tool to locally zoom into the image.

3. JPEG2000 and Palette color support (All versions):

Lacking the support of JPEG2000 and palette color images? You can review those images now with ONIS 2.3!

4. Color LUT tables (Pro and Ultimate):

Color LUT can now be applied to your images (in 2D and 3D). Choose one color table from the predefined ones or use the color LUT editor to create your own tables.

5. Opacity tables (Pro and Ultimate):

Additionally to color LUT, ONIS can define opacity tables. Linear, logarithmic, inverse logarithmic tables can be used. ONIS 2.3 also comes with an opacity editor, allowing you to create your own opacity tables.

6. Comments in database (All versions):

You can now store comments to your studies and series from the database window. Of course, you can also see and modify those comments remotely with the remote server plug-in.

7. Status of studies (All versions):

From the database window, you can now mark your studies as reviewed or not.

8. Faster image loading (All versions):

ONIS 2.3 has improved the loading speed of heavy images such as CR or mammography. Up to 100% faster!

9. ONIS preview when exporting DICOM images (Pro and Ultimate):

As you probably already know, when you burn a DICOM CD or DVD with ONIS, a viewer can also be added on the media. With the version 2.3, you also can choose to add this viewer when you export your images into a folder (a USB key for example).

10. Additional features and Bug fix:

Many small additional features has been added to ONIS 2.3 (customize report title, AE title in Auto-route...), the list would be too long to be written here. What’s new in ONIS 2.2?

1. Convolution filters (Pro and Ultimate):

Now, you can apply convolution filters to your DICOM images. Choose from the menu to apply any of those filters: Sharpen, Laplacian, Low pass, High pass, Emboss, Blur and more. You even can assign shortcut keys to each of those filters.

2. DICOM Converter (Pro and Ultimate):

Do you have BMP, JPEG or PNG images that you would like to convert into DICOM files and attach to a patient? Now it is possible with the "JPEG Gateway" plugin. Select one or several images from your computer and decide to attach them to an existing patient or simply create a new one.

3. Auto-Routing (Pro and Ultimate):

Any image imported into ONIS can now be auto-routed to one or more DICOM servers. Define as many routes as you want, apply filters and decide how ONIS should behave when the images couldn’t be transferred.

4. CD/DVD Preview viewer Environment (Pro and Ultimate):

As you probably already know, when you burn a DICOM CD or DVD with ONIS, a viewer will also be added on the media. With the version 2.2, you can also ask the viewer on the media to use your current window level presets, your current fonts and colors, your shortcut keys and your custom layouts.

5. IHE-PDI Profile (All versions):

Now, when you burn a CD or a DVD with ONIS, the contents on the media follow the IHE-PDI Profile (Portable Data for Imaging).

6. Previous and Next Study (All versions):

The 2D Viewer now integrates a previous and next buttons on its toolbar. Using those buttons, you can directly open the previous or the next study without going back to the database window.

7. Command line (Pro and Ultimate):

ONIS can now be controlled by the command line. This is a great function if you need a third party software to control ONIS. Just contact us to know the protocol.

8. Cardiothoracic ratio (Pro and Ultimate):

ONIS 2.2 includes a free cardiothoracic tool plugin. This plugin allows to measure a cardiothoracic ratio in just a few clicks. And of course, like all other annotations, the measures can be exported to Microsoft Excel.

9. Modalities in Study (All versions):

The DICOM server of ONIS supports now the "Modalities in Study (0008-0061)" optional key attribute.

10. Bug fix:

From the big numbers of downloads and thanks to you and your reports, ONIS 2.2 is now more robust than ever. Multiple bugs have been taken care of!
